about kiwi interactive

kiwi interactive is a small, independent game studio named after the lovable flightless bird. our team members have a diverse expertise in fields including strategy consulting, banking, advertising, graphic design, fashion design, teaching, law and even english literature. we boast not of industry expertise and experience in well-known and established companies; rather, we believe that our multidisciplinary approach to games combined with a wealth of raw talent will inevitably lead to something fresh.

kiwi interactive is based in manhattan, new york. new york city is one of the premiere cosmopolitan centers of innovation and attracts talent from all over the world. inspiration is a quick and dirty subway ride away.

mission

kiwi interactive was founded in 2009 with a deep dissatisfaction with the state of the gaming industry. save for a few independent game studios, companies were engaged in a tedious battle of one-upsmanship where everyone was trying to do the same thing slightly better than anyone else. creativity and novelty were in scarce supply, especially in the online gaming space, and were replaced with risk-averse business strategies.

our goal is to create fun and engaging games that engender meaningful experiences for the player.

social responsibility

we believe that as the industry matures and the world becomes increasingly digital, games will play a larger part in people's lives. As a result, game developers should have an unflinching commitment to social responsibility, above and beyond merely shielding children from violent or sexual content.

games are tools that can be used to accomplish various ends, but the more complex games should be designed in order to teach players about reality, rather than merely allowing an escape from reality (the obsessive pursuit of which often leads to tragedy).

there will most certainly be a trade-off involved between pure profitability and social responsibility. however, the foundation of our mission is not to amass enough wealth to be able to live off the interest of our interest. rather, the deeper goal is to explore and help shape the ways in which games and technology can better society.
